Called to Order
Mr. Branscom called the meeting to order at 3:55 p.m. Mr. Branscom asked if the minutes from the November 5, 2008 meeting were accurate.  A motion to approve the minutes passed unanimously.

 

Chairman’s Report
Mr. Branscom stated that there would not be a Chairman’s report.

CASC Budget Update
Mr. Harris stated that the Governor will announce his budget plans for FY2009 and FY2010 on December 17, 2008.

Executive Program Information
Mr. Harris thanked everyone for their cooperation with CASC cost-cutting measures and the limited budget for this program. Mr. Harris stated that 84 prosecutors registered for this program. Mr. Harris stated that CASC’s costs were approximately $3500 for this program and included coffee in the morning and drinks in the afternoon.

Update on DFS matters
Mr. Harris stated that Julia Pearson is no longer with DFS.

Reminder for filing annual Financial Disclosure and Statement of Economic Interests forms (by January 15, 2009)
Mr. Harris stated that all members of Council need to file financial disclosure statements. CASC is to keep track of everyone who files. Members can file the forms yourself and send Mr. Harris notification. All materials and links to training are located on the Secretary of Commonwealth’s and Attorney General’s website.

Revised Contact list
Mr. Harris stated that a revised contact list for the members of Board and Council were sent in the agenda email.

Revised Meetings and Events Calendar
Mr. Harris stated that the dates for the VACA bill readings and January’s Board and Council meeting has changed. The dates for the bill readings are January 14th and 27th.   at 9:00 a.m. The Board and Council meeting was changed to January 27, 2009.

CLE credits for 2008 Executive Program
Mr. Harris stated that Virginia State Bar (VSB) allotted 6 hrs. credits for the Executive Program.. Mr. Harris stated that he is appealing the decision by the VSB and will notify all attendees of the outcome. Mr. Harris stated that in order to receive credit for future programs, CASC will be asking presenters to provide additional information
 
Adjournment
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:45 p.m. The next Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Compensation Board Conference Room.
