Call to Order
Mr. Branscom called the meeting to order at 11:39 a.m.
Consideration of the Minutes
A motion to approve the minutes passed unanimously.
Mr. Branscom deferred his Chairman’s report.
Mr. Harris stated that the Gang Training in Lynchburg, Virginia, on January 22, 2009 had 34 attendees and received a 100% Good or Excellent rating from attendees. Mr. Harris also stated that the next Gang Training Program which will be held in Virginia Beach, already has 33 registrations. Mr. Bryant asked if 33 is a good number for attendees to the Gang Trainings and Mr. Harris stated that the Gang Trainings are one day programs averaging approximately 30-40 attendees.
The Advanced DUI program that will be held on February 25 – 27, 2009 at The Woodlands of Colonial Williamsburg has 40 registrations. Mr. Harris also stated that so far 533 prosecutors have registered for the 2009 Spring Institute.
Mr. Bryant stated that CASC may want to remind Mr. Robert Slaughter, Norfolk’s Commonwealth’s Attorney to keep CASC informed of events in the Norfolk area that will effect the program participants.
The meeting adjourned at 11:47 a.m. The next regularly scheduled council meeting is 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 19, 2009, at the Compensation Board Conference room.
