Call to Order
Ms. Watson called the meeting to order at 12:10 p.m.

Minutes
The draft minutes from the April 15, 2018, meeting were previously posted and circulated to Council.  The minutes were approved as submitted.

Old Business

CATF Update
Ms. Watson reviewed the CATF balance sheet reflecting account activity through
March 30, 2018. 

Spring Institute 2018 Recap
Ms. Watson gave a recap for the 2018 Spring Institute.  She reported that CASC had 751 attendees and over 40 presenters.  Eighteen hours of CLE were offered, including 4 hours in Ethics.  98% of the evaluations rated the program as Excellent or Good.  As of May 2, 2018, 46 offices had submitted reimbursement requests.  The deadline is May 18, 2018.  A total of 112 offices attended Spring Institute and are eligible for reimbursement.

Rental Space Update
Ms. DeBord updated Council on the status of the Richmond office space search.  She reported that the process is on hold until a Temporary Transfer Agreement (TTA) is approved for CASC’s current office space at William & Mary.  The TTA is under review by the College of William & Mary and CASC. 

New Business

CASC Faculty Awards
Ms. Watson reported that Ms. Chambers is working on a memo listing names and qualifications for CASC’s staff nominations for faculty awards.   Anyone else can submit a nomination, as well.   CASC’s nomination memo will be circulated to the CASC Faculty Awards Committee and then a vote will be taken at the next Council meeting on June 6, 2018.   Winners will be notified and invited to attend the Saturday night festivities at the Annual Summer Conference, at which time the awards will be presented.  CASC will pay for their rooms and travel for Saturday night.

Appellate and Legislative 2018 Update for Law Enforcement
Ms. Watson informed Council that Ms. Chambers is working on the 2018 Appellate and Legislative Update for Law Enforcement materials and will have them ready by mid-June.

There being no further business before Council, the meeting adjourned at 12:20 p.m.  The next regularly scheduled meeting is June 6, 2018, 12:00 noon, at the Henrico Sheriff’s Office Conference Room.
