SUMMARY:Prosecutor Bootcamp: A Comprehensive Training for the New Prosecutor
DESCRIPTION:Prosecutor Bootcamp is a week-long intensive training for the new prosecutor.  It will be held in Staunton\, Virginia. This program is open to prosecutors with three years or less experience. Specific topics to be covered include trial skills\, evidentiary issues\, practice in General District and Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court\, work-life balance\, and legal writing\, among others. \nLodging will be provided for attendees whose offices are more than twenty-five miles from the program venue.  Meals will be provided or reimbursed\, but mileage to and from the program is not covered. \nOnce you have registered\, you will receive a confirmation email with further details. This training is limited to 30 students who will be accepted on a first come\, first served basis\, with a preference for one attendee per jurisdiction. Multiple attendees from the same jurisdiction will be considered if space is available. \nProsecutor Bootcamp will be held twice in 2023\, January 29 – February 3 and August 20 – 25. SUMMARY:Investigation and Prosecution of Intimate Partner Violence ("Guns and Roses")
DESCRIPTION:CASC is offering an intensive 6-day training for Virginia prosecutors and law enforcement on investigating and prosecuting intimate partner violence. This course will cover IPV dynamics\, investigation and prosecution strategies\, strangulation\, prosecuting cases with uncooperative victims\, forfeiture by wrongdoing and more. \nThe program is free. Lodging and parking will be provided and meals will be reimbursed at state per diem rates. Mileage is NOT covered and will be the attendee’s responsibility. \nSpace is limited to 12 teams. SUMMARY:CASC Ring of Fire: Arson Prosecutions Program
DESCRIPTION:CASC’s Arson Investigation & Prosecution program is focused on all aspects of Arson cases\, including forensics\, expert testimony\, and legal aspects\, and is focused on Arson as a tool of fraud. This program combines prosecutors\, Virginia State Police/BCI investigators and insurance company fraud investigators for a week of team training including ATF arson specialists and a “live burn” where students will witness and then examine a crime scene. Lodging (for those whose offices are more than 25 from the venue) & meals are included\, but mileage is not. The program begins at noon on Monday\, February 6\, and ends at noon on Friday\, February 10\, 2023. \nThis program is a rotating program with other topics involving insurance fraud. Previous attendees of other “Red Flag” insurance fraud programs (such as elder fraud) are welcome to attend. \nProsecutors may sign up using the link below provided by CASC.  State Police should sign up using procedures outlined by Virginia State Police. SUMMARY:STARK - Stopping Technology-Facilitated Abuse of Rural Kids
