SUMMARY:Intro to Human Trafficking for Law Enforcement and Prosecutors
DESCRIPTION:CASC\, DCJS and the VSP together are offering a free two-day training to both prosecutors and law enforcement on the Introduction to Human Trafficking Investigation and Prosecution. It will be held in Williamsburg January 12 – 13\, 2026. This basic training is a prerequisite to the advanced training. \nThis free two-day (all day each day) training will increase the overall awareness and understanding of human trafficking\, and dispel common myths and misconceptions by way of data. It will further create an understanding and working knowledge of the applicable forced labor and commercial sex trafficking laws as well as increase victim identification and improve human trafficking investigations and prosecutions. Lastly\, it will improve the collaborative response to combat trafficking in the Commonwealth of Virginia. \nThe program is free. Lodging will be provided\, if requested\, for attendees whose offices are more than twenty-five miles from the training site.  Free parking is available.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge each day. Dinner will be on your own and not reimbursed. Mileage is NOT covered and will be the attendee’s responsibility. \nSeats are limited. SUMMARY:Prosecutor Bootcamp: A Comprehensive Training for the New Prosecutor
DESCRIPTION:Prosecutor Bootcamp is a week-long intensive training for the new prosecutor.  It will be held in Staunton\, Virginia. This program is open to prosecutors with three years or less experience. Specific topics to be covered include trial skills\, evidentiary issues\, practice in General District and Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court\, work-life balance\, and legal writing\, among others. \nLodging will be provided for attendees whose offices are more than twenty-five miles from the program venue. Meals will be provided or reimbursed at state per diem rate\, but mileage to and from the program is not covered. \nStudents will be accepted on a first come\, first served basis\, with a preference for one attendee per jurisdiction.
