SUMMARY:Advanced DUI - Williamsburg
DESCRIPTION:Topics to be covered at this intensive training include Investigative Stops\, Field Sobriety Tests and the PBT\, Breath and Blood Testing Issues\, issues in Manslaughter cases\, charging decisions\, checkpoints and DMV transcripts and more. The latest version of the Virginia DUI Manual will be distributed to participants. Much like our TOP GUN Program\, this training program utilizes a team-training format requiring a team consisting of a prosecutor and a law enforcement officer from the same jurisdiction. \nThis training will be limited to 40 resident attendees and 10 commuting attendees. Lodging and meals will be covered for those who reside more than twenty-five (25) miles from the training site. Lunches will be provided for commuting attendees. No mileage reimbursement will be provided. \nPreference is given to teams consisting of an officer and a prosecutor from the same jurisdiction. Registration does not guarantee acceptance to the program – confirmation of selection for the program will be sent out by January 9\, 2023.  You must be able to attend the entire program if accepted.  Details on the training facility and program will be provided in future emails. \nThis program is for Virginia prosecutors and law enforcement officers only. \nFor more information\, contact Paula Bruns at pmbruns@wm.edu or 757-775-2799. \nClick here to register for Advanced DUI.\n \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:CIIFER: Cyberattacks\, Internet Investigations\, Forensic Analysis and Electronic Records: Digital Evidence conference for Prosecutors and Law Enforcement
DESCRIPTION:CIIFER is CASC’s new digital evidence conference\, a two-day statewide conference welcoming prosecutors and law enforcement for a multi-track agenda that will include in-depth basic and advanced training on cyber-attacks\, forensic analysis of digital devices\, and obtaining digital records from third parties such as cellphone and internet providers. This program will include subject-matter experts from multiple disciplines as well as representatives from some of the nation’s largest internet-service providers. DESCRIPTION:CIIFER: ZERO DAY is CASC’s new basic digital evidence course for prosecutors and law enforcement. Immediately preceding CASC’s annual CIIFER electronic evidence conference\, ZERO DAY is a one-day\, basic course to introduce basic legal and technical concepts to newcomers to digital evidence collection. The program will include prosecutor and law enforcement instructors.
