CASC’s Internet Crimes Against Children Fundamentals program is designed for prosecutors, law enforcement, and civilian law enforcement analysts employed by law enforcement agencies. This program is designed to teach the fundamentals of investigating and prosecuting an online child exploitation case, including cases involving cyber tips, child solicitation, stings, and peer-to-peer file sharing. The program will examine case investigation, digital forensics, charging decisions, and trying an online exploitation case (including issues of evidence admission, expert testimony, common defenses, and sentencing issues). Instructors for this program are experienced prosecutors and law enforcement from across Virginia.
The training is being held in Hanover, VA. Attendance is free of charge. Lunch will be provided, but CASC will not be reimbursing mileage, meals, or any other costs. Virginia prosecutors, law enforcement, and civilian law enforcement analysts employed by law enforcement agencies are eligible to attend.
