Call to Order
Mr. Haislip called the meeting to order at 11:10 a.m.

Minutes
The draft minutes from the December 4, 2019, meeting were previously posted and circulated to Council. The minutes were approved as submitted.

Administrator’s Report
Ms. Chambers reviewed the agenda items:

Old Business

CATF Update
Ms. Chambers reviewed the CATF balance sheet reflecting account activity through December 31, 2020.

Richmond Office & Meeting Space Update
Ms. Chambers reported that CASC has received a full set of blueprints, if anyone would like to see them. They have been approved and building permit applications have been filed with the City of Richmond. CASC staff has started to look at and select furniture. It is anticipated that the build out will be complete at the end of March or April, 2020.

2019 Executive Program Recap
Ms. Chambers reported that the 2019 Executive Program was a big success with approximately 150 attendees.

 

New Business

Vacancy on the CASC Standing Committee on Ethics
Ms. Chambers reported that there is a vacancy on the CASC Ethics Committee. Mr. Haislip asked for nominations to fill the position. Mr. Arrington volunteered to serve. A motion was so made, seconded and unanimously passed.

2022 Executive Program Venue
Ms. Chambers reported that the 2020 Executive Program will be in Roanoke and the 2021 Executive Program will be in Charlottesville. She asked for suggestions for the 2022 Executive Program. Suggestions were made for Lynchburg, Harrisonburg and Staunton. Ms. Chambers will look into these options.

Security at CASC Training Events
Ms. Chambers reported that at the NAPC conference last December, she attended a presentation about security at prosecutor training events. Some states conduct full security at their large events. Mr. Haislip announced the formation of a special committee of 3 to 5 people to look into this issue. He will appoint members and report back at the next Council meeting.
