Call to Order
Mr. Beasley called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m.

Consideration of the Minutes
The draft minutes for the December 2, 2010 meeting, previously were posted and circulated to Council. The minutes were approved as submitted.

Chairman’s Report
Mr. Beasley deferred the Chairman’s report.

Spring Institute 2011 Update
Mr. Harris updated members concerning the plans for the March 20-23, 2011, Spring Institute in Williamsburg, Virginia.  Almost 600 prosecutors have registered for the program, the conference hotel is full and attendees are being housed in 2 overflow hotels nearby.  CASC returned to Williamsburg for the 2011 conference as a cost savings measure for the agency and Williamsburg offered lower costs to students.  Members discussed logistics of the meeting at the Fort Magruder location.  CASC staff is expected to arrange a shuttle service to overflow hotel locations.

Spring Institute 2012 Update
Members discussed possible sites for the 2012 Spring Institute.  CASC staff has reviewed possible locations that can house and provide training space for a conference the size of the Spring Institute and presented three possible locations for the conference.  After discussion, Council voted to have the Spring Institute in Norfolk in 2012.

Personnel Issues
Mr. Harris advised Council that Ms. Hillman was leaving CASC for a similar position with Christopher Newport University.

There being no further business before Council, the meeting adjourned at 11:30 a.m. The next regularly scheduled meeting of Council is Thursday, February 17, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the Compensation Board Conference room in Richmond, Virginia.
