Call to Order
Ms. Parr called the meeting to order at 12:04 p.m.

Minutes
The draft minutes from the May 6, 2015, meeting were previously posted and circulated to Council.  The minutes were approved as submitted.

Old Business

CASC Finance Committee Update
Mr. Wright reported that the CASC Finance Committee met earlier in the day.  The committee discussed future funding priorities.  In August Council will need to decide how much of an appropriation to request in the fall.  The committee will develop a recommendation between now and the August 6th Council meeting.  The primary funding priority will be Spring Institute.

2017 Executive Program
Ms. Weist reported that she was unsuccessful finding a venue in Williamsburg for the necessary dates in 2017, so she has negotiated a contract with the Charlottesville Omni Hotel.  The 2017 Executive Program will be held at the Charlottesville Omni from November 30 – December 2, 2017.

2015 Annual Summer Conference Update
Ms. Weist reported that so far 99 attorneys have registered for the full conference, plus 82 guests.  152 people have registered for MCLE only.  So far 9 special guests have confirmed.    There is 1 confirmed vendor.  Ms. Weist reviewed the agenda items, including social events.   Both the Sheraton and the overflow hotel are full, but she has provided a list of alternatives to those still in need of lodging.

New Business

CASC Presentation to the Secretary of Public Safety
Ms. Chambers reported that on June 11, 2015, CASC will be hosting the Secretary of Public Safety, Brian Moran, and his 3 deputies.  They will be visiting CASC for 2 hours to learn more about CASC, its facilities and its mission.  Ms. Chambers explained her plans for utilizing the 2 hours.

2015 Law Enforcement Legislative & Appellate Update
Ms. Chambers reported that pursuant to statute, she is preparing the annual training materials for Virginia law enforcement.  She is preparing materials both on new legislation and new appellate cases that have been handed down since June 1, 2014.  Her goal is to finish the materials by Friday and have them ready for distribution next week.

There being no further business before Council, the meeting adjourned at 12:16 p.m.  The next regularly scheduled meeting is at 3:00 p.m. on August 6, 2015, at the Sheraton Oceanfront Hotel in Virginia Beach.
